Photos from Transition Lewes Screening
So since our UK premiere at Leeds International Film Festival we’ve been really busy doing loads of community screenings in all sorts of places and have been discovering how interesting this form of distribution really is.
Yesterday we took The Crisis of Civilization to Lewes in Sussex, which has been a Transition Town for five years, and there was a really lively and interesting conversation afterwards. The questions and discussions have always been different at each screening, as have the audiences and different communities.
We’re learning as we do this too and we’re meeting people who are involved in some great projects. A massive thank you to Transition Town Lewes and all the other groups who have hosted screenings so far – it’s been great!
By distributing the film in this way we really feel like we’re engaging with people a lot more than if it was just released in a cinema for a week. Even in a small town you can realistically get 30-40 people to a screening by spreading the word and putting up some posters around town (our 2 colour screening poster is perfect for this).
Any ideas you might have on how to use the film in your community or group are very welcome, please get in contact – we would love to hear from you.
